I was in freight long before I knew I'd end up building software.
- 2017
Student and sole trader
I was studying Logistics and Maritime Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra when I started moving goods on my own. A textbook transport agency: phone calls, emails, rates in spreadsheets, international groupage. I registered as a sole trader and learned the industry the only way it can really be learned: quoting, booking and chasing trucks.
- 2020
A company in the middle of a pandemic
I incorporated when half the world was standing still. Not the timing I would have chosen, but the one I got, and I've come to be grateful for it: a freight business that starts in 2020 learns very early not to count on things going well.
- 2021–2022
From agency to platform
Every operation repeated the same steps. And if the steps repeat, they can be programmed. We started building the software that quotes road groupage to any point in Europe with a binding rate in seconds. Revenue x4 in 2021, x2 in 2022. I couldn't code. I knew exactly what the code had to do.
- 2023
Lanzadera
Lanzadera selected us for its Growth stage, and that same year we launched the digital platform. Envío x Envío stopped being an agency that used technology and became a technology company that operates freight.
- 2024
Team
We went from 3 to 14+ people in a year. My father, Toni Baldó, with more than forty years in international transport, joined as general manager: innovation and experience at the same table. We entered the Logistics 4.0 Incubator of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona. In January 2024 we closed €200,000 in ENISA funding, under its Young Entrepreneurs line, with the support of Business Angels Network de Catalunya.
- 2025
AI, at home first
We put AI agents to work in critical areas of the company: quoting, rates, booking, tracking. We opened an office in Irún. And we understood something that changed the plan: what we had built for ourselves, every logistics team needed.
- 2026
Auriga
On 1 September 2026, after almost a year of development, we launched Auriga IA: an ecosystem of agents that gives logistics teams superpowers. That same autumn, Envío x Envío received the Cecot Award for Best Young Business Initiative.
Today
I run two companies from Barcelona. In ten years I've hired more than thirty people, gone from sole trader to CEO, and learned that freight — this remarkable industry that moves the economy and almost nobody looks at — is one of the best places in the world to build. Now I want to help others build too.
I'm passionate about startups. I love anything to do with innovation, disruptive business models, the economy and business itself: understanding how value gets created, how companies compete and how you build something that didn't exist before.
